A National Historic Register Landmark our farm was established in 1861 by John Franklin Cobb the paternal Grandfather of Tyrus R. Cobb. Ty Cobb spent his childhood summers here where his Aunt would take him 10 miles into Murphy, North Carolina to play basesball with the Murphy Maulers. The original Cobb family log cabin (where the current owners live) as well as the log smokehouse and artesian well still stand today.
Besides being one of only 5 remaining Pre Civil War structures remaining in all of Cherokee County North Carolina our farm holds another piece of great history. Tyrus R. Cobb the legendary baseball Hall of Famer spent much of his childhood here
As only the fourth owners of this amazing piece of History the Cordell family now lives in the original Cobb Family Home. With 23 acres of the original farm still intact the family today operates a Log Cabin Vacation Rental Business and a working Alpaca farm. Guests that visit the farm today are instantly reminded of the beauty that brought the Cobb family here some 160 years ago. Our guests are encouraged to explore our entire farm. Get lost in the tranquil calm of Cobb Creek as it gently flows throughout the property. Visit our Alpaca, mini goats, and mini donkeys. The beauty of this place is hard to imagine and it is often said that pictures simply can't do it justice.
